I'm replacing a section of inner rocker panel on a coupe, from front to about 24" back. The outer rocker is in remarkably good shape, even after exposing the hidden face. There is a wad of fluffy white stuff packed between inner and outer, and I can't tell if it's from rodents or if it's insulation that's supposed to be there.
I have a hard time believing it's supposed to be there as it looks like it would hold moisture and promote rust. On the other hand, it looks well packed like it was placed intentionally. The only rust damage occurred from water collecting on the floorpan.
Anybody seen insulation in the rockers?
