Just picked up our 68 Cougar today. How do you read the Vin No.??

It is 8R91S500906

What does that mean??

Thanks,

P.S. Bear with me, I am new to this whole collector car thing. We have two 68 mustangs, one 68 cougar and one 38 ford truck and they all need something done to them. Its all my husbands fault! God help me!

I'm flattered!

Does this mean that I'm a know-it-all? ;)

8= 1968
R= San Jose plant
91= Standard hardtop
S= 390 4V
500906= 906th from Sanjose. This in not exactly truely the 906th as VINs were nor always built in order. However it is a early 68 bigblock car. Sounds like fun to me. Neal
