I bought a new turn signal switch and a year later it wore out in multiple ways. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and maybe a suggestion on how to fix or buy a stronger one. I bought this one here:

My problem is that the electrical connection were worn down too. This happened after only a year with the new switch. This was a 100$ part and wore down extremely quickly for some reason. The connections are brass. You can see the brass dust all over the inside of the wheel and all through the column where the switch was mounted.
How to rebuild the connections or prevent this again?
