Just joined the website & wanted to say hello. Love the wealth of info & experience on this site! I don't own a Cougar 'yet' but I'm very close to getting a 1972 XR7 hardtop. The car is over 400 miles away from me and I haven't seen it in person yet but everything seems great so far over the phone. --Just have to find a day to get down there to see it.

My first (of most likely many) question: Was there more than one 351-4V engine in 1972? I have seen air cleaner decals that have '351-4V' and I have seen decals with '351 CJ' on them. I thought if you had a '72 351 with a 4 barrel it was the Cobra Jet engine. Is that correct or was there a lessor 351-4V offered also? TIA

Duff, welcome to the forum, hope the car turn out to be what you are looking for and you can post pictures. I am not to familiar with the 71-73 models, but I am sure someone will chime in. Best of luck.
