hey guys, i am a proud owner of a 68 cougar. i live in adelaide, south australia. I have joined this group to find out some info on removing my heater core. i have a workshop manual but it doesnt seem to list everything in removing it. my problem in this matter is i cant get the bottom box of the the top of the box. i have removed the clips that hold them together and everything around it. i have removed the firewall plates and rubber and cant find anything else holding them together. As parts for these cars are expensive i dont really want to give it a good pull as you know what will happen! Any info would be great and thank you for taking the time of reading this.

The only thing holding the two halves together is the spring clips, I think Ford used some type of soft seal around the edges.
