Hi all,
before i purchase a new vacuum canister for my 70 vert.Is there a way to test it to see if it really needs replacing? I pulled up on the plunger and held my finger on the bottom inlet n tried pushing on it and it didnt go down or leak. Can or does anyone know a way to test them?
thanks

Pat, you can do it that way, but do both sides as they are seperate (one way can leak and the other could be OK)...

You need a vacum tester. They are inexpensive, and good to have given the miles of vacum tubing in a cougar. You remove the line and put the tester on 1 side and then the other side of the vacum motor and see if it holds.
