Can we buy a vowel or get a 50/50? What kind of engine?

302's weren't available in 1971 Cougars.

Looking in my 'how to rebuild your SBF engines', it looks like 71 302s would have D1TZ-A, or possibly D0OE-B.

Thanks,
My research also tells me that ALL 302 heads are the same as far as valve sizes are concerned (with the exception of the Boss 302 heads which are really a variation of the 351 C heads).
If all 302 head valve sizes are the same (1.78/1.45) what are 302-4V heads?

I think your block number tells you what you need to know. And you are correct, there really is no difference in the heads 2V to 4V on Windsors. As for Torino and GT, means nothing if you have a 302-2V.

FWIW, I think the 302 is a bit small/underpowered given the size/weight of the Cougars in 71-73.

Regards,

Bob

Back in the 50s-60s-70s, the 4V denoted 4 Venturi (or 4-barrel carb).

Should I change the info in my signature to be more descriptive? Still kinda new at this. :)
Andy, you might try listing your signature all on one line like this: '68 STD/C4 with a '71 302-2V (soon to be 4V). Just a suggestion. :) John
