So Im a little disappointed. I pulled my intake to replace it and while I have it off, i was gonna check the casting number. Wouldn't you know? The casting number is covered up with the head gasket (it is on the underside near the front or rear, isn't it?)! argghh! The ends of the head gasket come up and have a pushrod running thru them I can see the 69 302 on there which is a little surprising since the block is a '71. Any other way to identify what type of heads they are short of pulling them off? the lifter galley is surprisingly clean. I am replacing the stock 2 barrel intake. Man, that is one heavy booger!
