All this talk about GTEs lately reminded me of the one I read about many years ago with hand controls. If I remember correctly, the owner didn't have the use of his legs and had the car retro-fitted to accommodate him. I also think the owner passed away (in a car crash?? maybe...)

I don't really know why this popped into my head after all these years, but I guess I'm curious. Does anyone know what ever happened to the car and care to share the story?

The car now belongs to Frank Bowers Jr. It was restored about 7 - 8 years ago without the hand controls.

We had a thread on this about a year ago. You knew him didn't you Royce? I think it was you who provided some interesting information. The magazine article, and other things such as the owner used to have a 427 Cobra and he used that car and the GT-E for work.

For some reason, the photo that I posted in the original thread is gone.

Here is the "Super Street Machines" that features the GT-E in question.

I noticed that too and wondered what happened. Your post was on March 28, but was edited on June 8. Maybe at that time, the picture got deleted.
