Hi Gang --

'68 XR7, 302 4bbl. Was running flawlessly, my daily driver for a month. Then I went out of town for three weeks, came home and she's a different animal.

After starting (which took a few tries), drove her 1/4 mile but it was rough / acceleration very spotty. Then she stalled and now will not start. Battery has plenty of power, starter is turning over.

What could be causing this? Remember, she ran FLAWLESSLY three weeks ago.

Thanks

They don't ALWAYS wave a flag, or yell out, "I'M ABOUT TO ACT UP". We don't get warning signs all the time.

I would guess it's fuel related, maybe you have a filter problem, or bad fuel. Does it have an air cleaner? Have you looked over the engine compartment real close, STARE like an owl, maybe a mouse or so has moved in.

I bet you will find the reason real soon.

I got $5 on the failed fuel pump....look at your oil/level and smell it. If it's overfilled and smells like gas what do I win!?

Lack of lube on the distributer cam causing points to fail opening correctly?

Have you at least eliminated one or the other/fuel or spark?
