Question -
I ordered a new set of mounting hardware from WCCC, and apparantly the posts on the trim pieces have been worn down. I'd like to keep the appearance of the acorn nuts, but they are too large and simply fall off the posts.

Do these nuts come in different sizes? Can I get smaller ones for the worn shaft or do I need to resort to using a JB Weld to lock them in place?

Eric,

Yes, that happens on pot metal posts. First, have you checked one of the old nuts to see if it too slips? Chances are it will but do it as a sanity check. Otherwise, my suggestion would be to lightly coat/build up the post(s) with some epoxy or all-metal and let it cure. File off any excess if needed (too fat a post could end up being a problem too). Then carefully install and tighten the nuts. I would not recommend using epoxy as a glue to affix the nuts as once that sets up you may break off the post/nut if it ever needs to be removed again.
