The VIN won't tell you paint/interior, but the data plate on the driver's door will. Use the decoder at http://cougarclub.org/vindecoder-introduction.aspx

Or, get a Marti Report at www.martiauto.com which will give you even more info, such as factory installed options, actual build date, etc.

9F92H

9 = 1969
F = Dearborn assembly plant
92 = Standard Convertible
H = 351 2v (Windsor) engine

Another place you can look is on the buck tag if it is still on your car. It's a small piece of metal usually screwed to the front of the radiator support behind the passenger side headlights. On the one pictured below, the "C" in the top row is the paint code (dark ivy green), and the "FG" in next row is the interior code (white leather with dark ivy accents).

The Marti report mentioned above can be generated from just the VIN if you can't find what you're looking for on the car.

How much of the front end was changed to 1970?

Your vin tells you that your car is a 1969 standard (non-XR7) convertible built at the Detroit assembly plant. As far as colors, etc - you will have to order a marti report. Or pull the backseat as there is likely to be original paint there. I've seen a number of 69's with 70 noses. They look a lot better than a smashed 69 nose, which is commonly how a 70 nose ends up on a 69. May not be the case with your car, but is not unheard of.
