I am looking for information on what kickdown rod to use when the original FMX (1969 Cougar) was replaced with a C4. Has anyone done this swap? If so, what did you do about the kickdown rod? Thanks, Cougar Bill
Bill
i know that the c4 linkage is compatable to work on a 69 fmx tranny cause i got a 69 fmx in my 70 and i got a c4 kickdown rod on it from a 70 c4 transmission. try using a 70 fmx kickdown rod or a c4 one .
thanks
pat
Or, here's a thought. Put a 69 FMX back in the car as it is a better tranny anyway. I would stand by the FMX all day long. They give great service and need few repairs.
Many drag racers are using the 3 speed FMX because of it's ability to take abuse.
Might be an option for you.
