I have a 68 with a 302-2v. It has been "restored" previously. My question is: What color blue did Mercury use in 1968? Our 68 Mustang has the darker Corporate blue, but the Cougar is a lighter blue. Is the lighter correct, or did previous owner somewhere get it wrong? Also, the "Powered by Ford" on the valve covers is painted silver/grey. Is this correct? Any and all help appreciated.

That did help but for other reason. I was mistakenly calling Polar White, Artic White. So, thanks. But my original question pertains to blue used on block, air cleaner, and valve covers. Again, all help is appreciated.

Corporate Blue is correct and no highlighting on raised lettering of valve covers.

Ya gotta watch the engine paints - there are 2 shades - and not apparent until you notice it over the other one! The 67-69 is the darker one - not sure on when they went to the lighter color? (which I like better...and did mine in!)
