I'm down to the last thing to fix on my 1970 cougar. The emergency flashers just don't work. Somebody suggested its the leads on the flasher switch. Does this mean I have to take the steering wheel off to get to them? Any Ideas would be appreciated.

It's probably the gold flasher can located in a bracket behind the center section of the dash next to the heater controls.
