Ok, some new cars on the market. We'll start with those and go from there.

These listings are combed from popular sites (CraigsList, eBay, Hemmings, CarsOnLine, Kijiji, and others). As always, if you know of an Eliminator for sale please feel free to add it to the list. Or if you have any info / details or other general comments about an Eliminator listed here (or elsewhere) please feel free to pass along that info.

Got some pics, marti and info on this one. 0F91G516009
He believes the top was dealer installed based on age and use of factory trim. Marti says it wasn't sold for 9 months, and given the nice set of options it may have been a demo or dealer driven for that time.
Headliner was replaced at some time. Service replacement block, missing original carb but he has the aircleaner - minus snorkel.
He believes the paint is original, or at least "vintage", but it has been buffed through on many of the edges and shows dings from age.

Options include console, pb, decor interior, 3:50 traction lok, tilt steering, AM/8-track, tinted glass, Hvy Duty battery.

Ok, this CJ 4-speed E-cat has been languishing at $30k for quite some time (I think almost a year now). I know it has poorly patched floors, is missing the Ram-Air bits, and some other engine goodies are non-matching. Ebay listing says "missing smog", but it is originally a MA car, so I don't think it should have smog anyhow (AFAIK).
Pics show no rust underneath, but I wonder what's in the quarters and cowl, being an east coast car.

So, for conversation's sake (I'm not buying, just thinking out loud), what do YOU think this car should reasonably bring? I think $30k might be a touch high, but $25k-ish would be a reasonable deal. Given the nice list of options this car left the factory with (PB, console, 3:25 traction lok, Ram-Air, AMradio w/ rear speakers, Decor Group, Tinted glass, SS wheels)...

What do YOU guys think?

All 428CJ Cougars and Mustangs had under hood smog due to Holley Carb being used. It didn't matter what state they were sold in. California Cougars also got the funky gas tank vapor recovery stuff. So if you have a 428CJ Cougar from California, you basically got Smog x 2. LOL.

Thanks Scott! I got the same answer from a few fellahs over at the other site too. Some more discussion about this car there too.

BTW ~ I'm gonna be down in PHX for a few weeks, end of Oct / first of Nov. Maybe we can meet up and talk cars or something?

Brian pointed out this one on the other site...

'69 w/ 351, auto. Comp yellow, black interior, *sunroof*. Marti report. $15.5k in MI.
http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/cto/3332956262.html

-This one was listed last year for about the same price, but apparently didn't sell.

I wonder that too, Pat. But I don't really know him, so I don't feel it is my place to just outright ask...

*edit* Ok, I posted what I hope is a polite inquiry on the other site.

I know him personally i got him hooked up with the 70 xr7 vert when i was living in rhode island. And he and I were supposed to go 1/2s on the eliminator but this was around 2000-2001. The white 460 car was a beast and the sports special he put his heart and soul into it. But i`m sure there`s a reason behind this cause mark is a diehard cougar nut .

thanks
pat

Poor kitties. Sunroof parts for he who is local. Hall of shame for Don Rush. Wonder if he has a good left side shot of the eliminator.

He's supposed to call me back this evening with the VIN. I'll see if he has some pics he can send.

So, what do you think of his $3k price, considering it comes with a donor car? To me, that seems reasonable, for what you are getting. Talking to him, it sounds like the interior is all there - he specifically mentioned the Eliminator dash. I know, it is probably all in sad shape just the same.
