Thanks fellahs. It was previously listed and all bids pulled at the last minute. Looks like it's either dealer-owned now, or on consignment. Previous reserve was around $15k, so it passed that easily.

Here's one newly listed on the Oklahoma City Craigslist: http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/2713801643.html
Comp blue '70 sunroof car. Currently 302 2bbl. No indication what the original drivetrain was, but probably 351/auto if its an original sunroof car. Appears to need a little freshening up. $4,000.00.

Interesting car in Oklahoma. Interesting aftermarket wheels too. Wonder what options it has. Why is this stuff always too far away?

Well, I see AC and power brakes. Given it is a sunroof car and most likely a former Hertz car (I think there were 2 non-Hertz sunroof cars?), I would bet it also has power steering.
What other options were Hertz "standard"? Did most of them come with power windows? I imagine Hertz ordered them all pretty much the same.
Here is a link to info on the Sunroof cars: http://www.mercurycougar.net/forums/archive/index.php/t-53030.html

I'm gonna give the fellah a call this morning and see about digging up some more details. No plans for me to buy it, but I'll pass on anything I learn.

~ thanks for the tip on this one! :)

'70 w/ 351, auto (currently a 302, but has original engine). Comp blue. Charles in OK, $4000
VIN: 0F91?537437 (he read the 5th digit as "11", and is checking the title later today).

Ok, just talked to Charles. He's had the car for about 2 years, and bought it "out of a barn" where the previous owner had it stored under a tarp. He still has the original engine for the car (351C). The 302 is not currently running but it will fire up if gas is put in the carb. He has a new fuel pump for it and offered to install it if anyone wants to drive the car. Power sunroof is original to the car. No power windows. I asked him about rust and was told the right rear quarter has rust through, but no holes in any other places. Asked him about frame rails and torque boxes and he said "they looked better than I thought they would". He's going to send me the VIN and more pictures later today. I'll pass them on here, or email to anyone interested in more pics.

I also told him that I was gathering info to pass along to some other folks. I also sent him this link, so maybe he'll drop by and chime in himself.

I would think that the 11 is actually M. It does fall into the Vin range of the other Hertz Eliminators. From the ones that I have they were equipped as follows,

351-4V, Eliminator, Auto, F70x14 belted tires, sunroof, PS, PDB, A/C, AM, Tinted windshield, competition handling package and speedometer gear.

What is the speedometer gear? I've heard of it, but figured it was just a hard-to-find part and not an option. Yeah, I figure it will turn out to be an M as well, but didn't want to assume that.
