No, the switched wire should be the black/green stripe. This also feeds the pink resistance wire to power the coil. As long as you tap in before the resistance wire, you will have full voltage to the choke while cranking and running. Always verify the voltage readings before making a permanent wire connection. Any additional wiring under hood, can be shrink wrapped and hidden to look completely correct.

In my opinion, it's best to use a relay. Run the ignition through the signal posts to activate the relay. This has zero resistance and is wired in series. Your ignition coil won't even know it's there.

Then run the power posts right of the + battery on a pigtail right into the choke with a fuse. The battery will obviously give you at least 12 volts of power.

You can use the 4 way solanoid right next to the battery. Ign -- relay -- ignition coil.

That way everything stays under the hood and doesn't involve the fuse box or under the dash board.
