I'm getting one of those colored electrical schematics for my cougar.

This fellow does a nice job http://classiccarwiring.com/ but he offers a 67 xr7 diagram, or a 68 standard. (no 68 xr7)

is the wiring close enough between 67 and 68 to use the 67 xr7, or should i go 68 standard, with only the gauges being different?

Good question johnboy, I'd be interested to know why 68 was the only year they didn't print the XR7 diagram.
I'd have to get the small 67 XR7, then a larger 68, if that is the case.

The 67 XR7 drawing is fine for a 68 XR7 except the side marker lamps are not shown of course.

headlite / turn signal /markerlite are all different---remember that the govt was looking out for your safety back in 68 too---national transportation safety act of 1968--you also got a new steerinf wheel---no sharp knobs--padded knee pads---larger brake pedel and fuel pedel ect
