Although a Mustang, I figure some Cougar expertise can help me on this one...
Our '66 coupe just returned from the shop on Thursday after getting transmission work done. My wife turned the car off to open the garage door. When she tried to start it back up, nothing. No voltage at the battery so I replaced it. When I hook up the negative terminal on the battery, there is heavy arcing and the starter engages. To my knowledge, nothing was done to the electrical system while at the shop. We were hoping to take it to a cruise in tonight, but not when it's doing this! Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dan
