Has anyone ever had issues with their hi-beam glowing lightly when low-beams are on? I checked the voltage at the connectors & have about 4volts. I also noticed that my low-beams (outer) seem to be on high-beam all the time, and my frt. signal lights & the ignition key light are still on during low-beam operation (which if I remember right, used to only come on with the marker lights & turn off when the headlights are on) Maybe a dimmer switch problem? As soon as I disconnected the drivers headlight, the problem went away!? Just digging up my shop manuals for a schematic... Any thoughts would be appreciated!

More than likely you have corrosion and or bad grounds. Low Volts means that your not getting a clean path (unless your alt is not putting out good voltage to start with). I'd check the headlight sockets and be sure that the grounds are solid and not rusty/corrodoed. You might consider replacing the sockets - I think NAPA sells them still. Or you could upgrade to a relay setup which will really make an improvement and allow you to run modern headlamps. Do a search for headlight relays you will get plenty of info.
