Ok there are 2 EFI harnesses I am looking at for the swap. First one says it is for a Mustang/Cougar/Bronco swap as it has the 4 pin connector to connect the EFI harness at the firewall into the existing Ford harness which I am gathering is for gauges and ignition. The other harness is a universal 5.0 swap harness basically used in other fords, hotrods or Cobra Kits.

Well in my Cougar restomod project I have a painless style universal wiring harness and all the gauges are Auto Meter so there is no original wiring in the car. Do you think I really need to pay $560, almost $100 more for the specific Mustang swap harness or just go for the cheaper Universal one for the $475???

Here are the link to each:

Hey I knew you'd answer! Maybe I should of just PM'd you. Well I think you are right but just couldn't bight the bullet until I got someone else's opinion. Man the days of trying to figure out how to install a factory Mustang harness and what wire goes where and what one do I get rid of is over!

haha, i have my head so wraped up in this swap it is not even funny. after further checking out the 2nd harness. i still think it is agood viable option . i really really like the ford harness too its pricey at 575 , but is great and is only 10 wire to connect!

Having the ability to datalog and flash the pcm sure is nice. Sometihing to think about the EECV over the ECCIV. To tune the EECIV you need a chip and to figure fuel trims you will need secondary equiptment. Most tuning software has the ability to data log EECV.
