Hello all, I've got a 67 that im (slowly) restoring and i am having questions about the trans to rearend combination. I have a factory three speed that came with the 2v 289 that came with the car. I am using a 302 that is bored 30, forged pistons, comp cam, 302 ported heads( eventually afr's), 650 cfm carb and performer intake. I was told that the three speed would work fine, i just wanted to know any budget 5 speed trannys that would bolt up to the 302 for cheap. I also wanted to know if i should pick up a 9inch rear end. I will upload pictures of my rear end that came with the car, but i dont think it is a 9 inch. Any suggestions or help is much appreciated!!!!

Welcome to the forum. On the axle that came with the car, see if there is a tag about 3" long held on by a nut on the carrier and post the info from the tag and someone will decipher the info for you. John
