Ok so according to the drive shaft shop guy, the drive shaft i have is not factory, has been cut and is actually to short by inch and a half. Its out of a 1971 XR7, motor is a 302 and transmission is a C6. I measured the shaft and roughly 51" and yoke width 3 1/4. He said the yoke should sit in the transmission about 3 and a quarter, currently it was about 2". What can I pull a drive shaft out of in a junkyard that will work? He said he can cut it shorter. Trying to save a little bit of money here.

Depends on how cheap he would do it - and would it be balanced afterwards? I hope so. Might be better off to call WCC or Johns and just get one shipped to you. I got one from another member on here for about $90 if I recall....
