I am going to rebuld the door hinges on the drivers door of my 70 standard Cougar. Is there a place to unplug the wire going through the door jamb to the door? I can see a plug above the kick panel, but it is an empty plug-nothing is plugged into it. Did I just not reach around in there enough yet? I do not want to cut original wires and have to re splice them- my interior courtesy lights all work and I would like to keep it that way. Please excuse my ignorance, I am a Mustang guy. Thanks for the help!!

Well I guess I will try and answer this, There are plugs you can pull apart, but they are under the dash pad along with a ground wire that is fastened to the metal with a screw. The way I would do it is, remove the door panel unhook the wires and pull the wires and plastic plug out the end of the door and don't worry about the dash.

you can also remove the door panel and plug it out of the back of your courtesy light and pull it through the side of the door jam.
