The easiest way I have found was to cut the old pin in the middle with an angle grinder or cutoff wheel. Then it is easy to pop them out. When you put the new one in, it will be a little long. I cut mine with bolt cutters and mushroomed it with a hammer a little to make it good and tight. I did all this with them off the car, not so easy if they are on the car. If you take them off one at a time while supporting the door that is the easiest way. Just mark the original locations before removing them.
