I searched! Found tons of threads on grilles, lots of finished pics, but does anyone know of a good source detailing how it's done? My grille looks like garbage. Thanks!
The 69 is probably the easiest to restore since it was only chrome and satin black. Use fine steel wool on the chrome to clean it up prior to painting. Remove the original paint with aircraft paint stripper or whatever your preferred method is. Spray the whole grill satin black and wipe off the face of the chrome ribs while the paint is still tacky. You can use a cloth wrapped around your finger and moistened with your favorite solvent to remove the paint from the chrome.
