This one..

http://www.cougarpartscatalog.com/dl149.html

and this one.

http://www.cougarpartscatalog.com/dl39.html

I'm not all that certain that this one is '67 only..anybody have a clue?

I'm gonna totally throw Don Rush under the bus here. He doesn't know where they go either. Who does? Any pics of a '67 Engine Bay out there? Concours, GT (not 6.5L , but we'll take those!) especially, please :)

I'm amazed at how hard it is to get any concensus on decals. Let's get it figured out and documented and saved here for the next guy to do an easy search. That, and Don and Scott can put it on the website ( a photo?) for the world to see.

UPDATE:

I just spoke with Steve at Perogie..he's their decal specialist. He said he doesn't know either. This is very common in the Mustang world too. He said he'll be at an event this weekend and will see what he can find and document. He mentioned that it is always the goal, but it is very difficult to tell an original untouched car from one which got touched sometime and had a decal removed or thrown on.

I find if fascinating , for some reason.

Thanks,

BTW, both linked items were the same...

anyways, I *think* I remember seeing that on the inside of the air cleaner base of a car once -- or was that an ink-stamp on the bottomside of the air cleaner lid...? Or was that inkstamp/paintstamp I'm thinking about on the bottomside of the lid one of the GMs I had in the past...

Too many cars/too long ago! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

I'm getting the feeling more and more with time that a lot of these decals are fables. When I can call around to the best Mustang and Cougar people in the business over the course of years and get all these "maybe" or "never seen myself" responses..it probably means that less is more, most often ;)

I put the F, B, P, T stickers on my engine bay cowl area (except for the P in the door jam, a lot of folks have seen that!) randomly and it was because a very reputable Mustang Mag Editor told me about the same thign..

Interestingly, I have a red "F" on my trunk in the Green GT. It apparently was only Dearborn where these stickers were stuck.

The Fomoco and Autolite stickers were probably put on by service guys at dealerships where Fomoco and Autolite sales reps handed them out to help boost sales. Dayum a WayBack machine would be handy!

That's funny!

I would check with the CCOA Judging Sheet for the 67 GT <TABLE style="MARGIN-LEFT: auto; MARGIN-RIGHT: auto" border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=line1left>GT, XR-7 GT, 6.5 Litre: Brett Irick </TD><TD class=line1right>[email protected] </TD></TR><TR><TD class=line2 colSpan=2>2 Brookwood Lane, Dearborn, MI 48120-1302, (313) 240-6418

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

This 67 Mustang GTA doesn't look it has any. Also the 67 GT did not get a hood blanket.

Don't know but wasn't FoMoCo dropped for Autolite in 65-66?

Brian, to add to towcats post. I just checked the NPD-Mustang 2010 catalog online and it says the Air Cleaner Service Instruction Decal location would be on the drivers side of the Air Cleaner base. John

The Fomoco stuff went through '67. Autolite in '68, with some early 68 cars having Fomoco distributor caps.
