I don't understand why someone would do this.....You would get a citation and could have it all confiscated here. Not to mention someone getting in your face at a stop light ! ...Its amasing what a bucket of water will do !! Other people do not want to hear your noise !! Get a good set of headphones !!

Is this car a NON DRIVER, and the system is being set up for sound competition? It appears that you used particle board, if such is the case, wouldn't MDF be a better material? It is lighter, and better for sound from what I have read.

Not a project I would do, but each to his own, and I'm sure some could fault some of the projects I have done, and am still doing.

Outta the box? You could crawl up inside that thing and do your thinking inside the box!

As others have said, not my thing, but I think it is admirable to not just talk about what you want to do the car, but actually get at it and do it. Good job, I hope it makes your experience with your car more enjoyable. Please listen to a word of caution though, please be mindful of others around you when your cruising. With so few Cougars on the road, you are actually representing Cougar owners when you are driving around, whether you like it or not. We would all appreciate if you don't leave others with the impression that Cougar owners are inconsiderate jerks, destroying the peace and quiet. I'm not tyring to insenuate I know you or anything, but it is easy for people to form an opinion based on one bad experience.

Play on friend and enjoy.

Oh I remember back in the day when I had my first stereo installed in my Nova. Mid's, tweets, eq,amps, subs!! Sounded sweet! This is when equipment was expen$ive. There was no fiberglass boxes, just subs in the trunk, mids and tweets in the doors. I'm kind of jealous of what installs look like now. My girlfriends pop didnt care for it much, or me for that matters!! Changed his mind tho when I rebuilt the front end in his Olds. Girlfriend didnt like that much considering we were supposed to be on our way out!! Hey just remember-ya aint going to be able to get the three girls in the backseat, and your buddy will not bail out when cruis'in! keep the update coming

Just don't be one of those obnoxious people that have to leave their car running and thumping every time they go into a store; or thumping down the road as if everyone else wants to hear that sh-t that loud ! Leave it for the car shows. Give respect get respect.
I do appreciate the ability to build that yourself, good luck on the project.

I prefer more of a stealth install then what you are doing but it is YOUR car. I think there is plenty of room in the trunk for that type of speaker install and still have a trunk. It's what I couldn't understand in the Pimp Your Ride type shows. When they were done you couldn't put anything in the trunk, or sit in the back seat or both. IMHO it takes away some of the usefulness of the car.
But like I said, it is your car and you have every right to do whatever you want to it. Best of luck with your project.

Oh, them Kali socialist commies again... and by that I mean they'd prefer a hammer and a sickle over a hamburger. Hopefully they'll never team up with German Green party politicians, or the world will be at environmentally-friendly doom. Totally emancipated, ecologically and politically correct, of course. Zero emissions. Peace, yo!

Just add the AM-8Track baby - Oh-Yea!

Just remember two things are your right to have an extreme stereo does not exceed - others rights not to hear it. If your shaking windows in the neighborhood its too loud!

Hearing loss is permanent and prolonged exposure will cause damage to your hearing. Back in the day the stereos that most of us had would distort so terribly by time you could do damage one did not have dailey exposure to damaging decibles. you had to go to a concert to experience extreme decibles. Again If your shaking windows in the neighborhood its too loud to be in the car, turn the volume down.
