Hi there,

while tune up the Cat i found the correct Holley 4150 Carb
C8AF-9510-AD List-4088 on top of the 427 GT-E.

But the Metering Blocks read 5196 and 4841 anstead the right 5169 / 4861.

Now im wondering what will happens?
Are the Blocks absolutely wrong and undrivable or is
the comparison to the correct ones minimal?

Thanks

Joe

It wouldn't be unusual for someody to swap the metering blocks - either because they were warped (not unusal on Holley's) or because they made modifications of some kind. It shouldn't hurt how it runs - be sure to take note of the jet sizes so you know where you are starting at. Another reason you may change them is they get stuck like glue with the old style gaskets!! And you can destory it easily trying to pry them off. If you take them apart, do yourself a favor use the new style blue gaskets they don't stick like that. (Some guys use Chapstick too)

I posted this before, but I guess it got lost. The carb. on my GTE has 5169 on front and 4841 on rear, where did you get the 4861 info. from? Could have been that Holley mixed up the stamp and put 96 instead of 69 ????

i get a list from Jim Pinkerton, it reads 4861 and 5169 for the Metering blocks.

Do anyone have the correct jet sizes?

Thanks Joe

As I re-read this, how clear is the stamping on the air horn? Got a picture?

The stamping is very clear. So have the RIGHT Carb with the correct Metering Blocks.
