Our Cougars have a fantastic legacy: Defeating Camaro and Firebird to become the 1967 Car of the Year, Almost defeating Mustang for the Trans Am crown being driven by Dan Gurney and Parnell Jones. The Eliminator was the first real Funny Car driven by Dyno Don Nicholson. The cougar even got the mighty 427 side oiler something no Mustang could ever claim, (but Mustang did get the six cylinder exclusive!)
That kind of history deserves recognition. There are a few Cougars that stand out from all of the rest. They are the best of the breed. Not all of them rolled off the assembly line to greatness. Some were factory one offs, like the XR7-S and others went on to be modified like the BOSS 429 racing Cougars. Some became great on the race track. They are all unique and all special.
To honor these cars there is a new section of the Classic Cougar Community Forums where you can nominate, and then vote for the cars you think deserve recognition. http://www.classiccougarcommunity.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1080&p=12873#p12873
