I personally like Holley's just about plug and play. I didn't see in the spec's if this was a spread bore carb, if its the original intake you'll need a spread bore carb.

On My 73 Q 351 I went with a Holley 670 (80670) and an EDL 2665 manifold. Very happy with the setup (square bore)

Yes , it will work well , same carburetor I had on my 72 Q code car . They have a gasket that lets the square bore work fine on the stock intake , you will also have to block the choke passage and run the electric choke over to the starter relay by the battery

Well finally someone who has used the square to spread bore adapter on a phatcat (71/73).There have been many conversations about this in the past and I was always a doubter. Still not a fan but thanks for posting your experience, good to know

When I purchased the car , this august the previous owner had it done recently, he was unable to get the original carburetor tuned well . I had the factory carb rebuilt by a specialist here and will be putting in back on . Not that the Holley did not work well , rather I kinda want to keep it original if I am successful in getting the original carb to work like it should.

When I bought my 73 it had the 4300 D carb on it, I'm no carb guru and I ended up rebuilding it every 6 months or so because it started acting up. Yea I know they're finicky. I run AV-Gas in mine since its a Vert and only goes out on sunny clear days  I went with the new Holley and EDL manifold (mentioned previously) and have never looked back. Nothing wrong with keeping it as original as ya can
