Hi I,m new to this site< Don at West Coast Classic put me on to you guys. Im building a 1967 XR7 GT got most of the steel and mechanical done , the problem is went to put in the driveshaft and it,s about 2 inches to long, it,s the right one just over 49 1/2 inches long the motor can,t go any more forward and the rear end is in the right place so the only thing i can think of is the transmission tail stock is to long , is there a shorter c6 by 2 inch , did I rebuild the wrong trany , the car was apart when I bought it motor and trany were out sitting beside the car . I can,t believe it,s not the right trany , shift linkage ,kick down , cross meber all fit.

All passenger car FE C6 transmissions are the same length. You probably have the wrong yoke on the rear end.
