Maybe some of you guys know.

long story short. My bro has a 302 in his truck, swapping it for a 460 or something like that. (He's much younger than I am and kinda annoys me so some of the gritty details are a blurr, all i know this is like the 5th motor he is slamming in this truck this year alone. Yes he's 18) Anyways. He was telling me he's hoping the C6 that is in the truck right now will bolt up to the 460. Which it should if it is infact a C6.....now, I swear Ford didn't make a C6 for 289/302/351W and I swear they did make a small block one for a 351 cleavland which bolted up to the FE's. (or something like that..can't quite remember. I just know I'll never have one)

He's hellbent on telling me what he has now in the truck bolted up to the 5.0 is a C6 and I think he's full of it. I would go check it out myself but he is 1200 miles away. I'm thinking he has a C4, C5, AOD, maybe a C3. I've dug through articles on C6's that I've saved because that is what I have in my Cat and wanted to learn more, but I didn't see anything about a C6 for the 302.
Who can prove either I am wrong or my brother is a crack head?

Re: C6 Question

C6's were behind a boat load of 351W's in pickups and 80's vans. These 351W C6's will bolt to any small block (289, 302, 351C, 351W) with a 6 bolt bell housing. The 400 C6 will swap behind a 429, 460, 351M. The FE (352, 360, 390, 428, etc.) C6 will not bolt to anything but an FE.

C6

Well, I know it isn't a c3. I don't believe they saw duty behind any v8. Also, if it is a windsor c6 it won't fit the 460 anyway as they have the integral bellhousing if I remember.

C6 For 302

Ford made C6's for 289-351. I got the C6 that is in my Cougar from a 302 powered ford van. It fits in a 69 Cougar with a 351 with little modification. I also have a C6 for an FE that is similar, but the bolt up pattern is not the same.

Yeah, I saw they did make em' for the windsor motors. However, if it is a c6 in the truck and it is bolted to the 302 in there, there is no way it will bolt to the 460. He'll have to trade for a big block (not FE) c6.
