I have a 1977 mercury cougar with a c4 transmission, the last few days it goes into reverse but wont go into drive unless the car is warm or vacuum to the modulator is disconnected. I have connected it to ported vacuum and it goes into drive and shifts into all 3 gears. Is there something wrong with ported vacuum to the modulator or should it work fine?
