Hi all

just recently smoke has started to blow out of the carb after i turn the engine off. there is the ditinct smell of burning oil and a plume of smoke gushes out. for awhile i was wondering why and how I was burning oil so quickly, there are no signs of external oil leaks, I'm not pushing blue out the exhaust system, so i think this might be the cause. I'm think piston rings, any comments?

thanks

Is the PCV connected properly? If the PCV valve becomes clogged it will cause oil smell.

I can't imagine how smoke could come from the carburetor unless it is fuel vapor escaping after the car is switched off. Are you using an air cleaner?

If it puffs out of the carb my GUESS would be valve seals but you would also notice smoke on startup. Any other ideas anyone?
