How would you like to be able to spec out a brand new classic Cougar, and then see what the window sticker would look like? Or input the details for your car and see how much it would have "stickered" for?

We are working on a new feature for ClassicCougarCommunity.Com to do exactly that!

But we need your help. We need to see examples of original window stickers to see how things were described, the words they used, punctuation, etc.

If you have a picture of your original window sticker, or factory invoice (Emminger Report) and you can post it here or email to billb at classiccougarcommunity.com (Replace at with @ and remove spaces) It would be greatly appreciated.

Who among us hasn't fantasized about walking into a Mercury dealer back in, pick a year, '67, '68, '70 etc. - and armed with the knowledge we have acquired, sit down with a salesman to order the Cougar exactly the way we want it....

Does this mean I can finally have a xr7-G with a 427 and a 4 speed? Or is this being set up for what was offered at the time.

The option availability will be limited to what you could have ordered according to the dealer order materials. So no 427 powered C4 equipped XR7-Gs...

Here is how it works:

Step One: Choose the year. (for right now that's '68 only)
Step Two: Choose the body code. (XR7 or Standard)
Step Three: Select the options. (You can only specify things that were actually available)

Then Dream Cougar will produce a PDF of the Window Sticker for your Dream Cougar!

We have added the ability to ad PDF's to your posts so you can share your Dream Cougar with all of us.

A few important notes:

No you can't order a 427 and a 4 speed. Options are limited to what you could actually get back in the day.

There are sure to be a few bugs! To keep things manageable we will be supporting the ap on ClassicCougarCommunity.Com

Once we see that this works for 1968 we will add more years, from '67 to '73. We can still use a copy of the '69 and '70 option price books to fill in a few prices we don't have yet.
