Please Help! I am replacing my brake lines and have a question on how to release the clips that hold the front to rear line in the tunnel, with out destroying them ? This is on my 68 XR7 GT
Thanks Jeff

Kind of a backwards scissor effect. Use a screwdriver in the middle and spread The clip apart and pull it out. I wouldn't re use them as good repo replacements are available from NPD or other vendors.

For safety's sake, you might want to get that brake line out of the trans tunnel and move it to the inside of the rocker panel. If a u-joint decides to let loose, the whipping driveshaft will probably take out that brake line. All of the racing sanctioning bodies require that modification, not that you'll be racing, but it is still a good thing to do if you're replacing the lines anyway (unless yours is a Concours show car).
