So with some health issues behind me and winter upon us I figured I'd get some work done on Panther. here is her new mill and trans. I will finish the engine this winter and start prepping the car for the transplant. She is evolving from a fast street car to a Hellcat killer.

Still toying with header selection. The monster ports are making it difficult to find a proper set and using my old hot side will not cut it as the 1.5" primaries were smaller than the ports on these new heads LOL.

To answer your question Harry: she is turbocharged or as the kids say "boosted".

I will be running a 78/75 Billet single up front and then my exhaust will go back from the turbo's down pipe into a traditional dual Magnaflow system out the rear. Basically the same system I have now, just up-sized for the 351W. I will have a down pipe electric cutout in this one as well, but it will fender exit instead of dumping on the ground. 2 Steps belch flames, not so good on dry pine needles... (ask me how I know) so I'm gonna cut Franken-Fender and run a cutout to scare the be-jesus out of potential victims LOL! If y'all recall I grafted a 67 and a 68 fender together back in the day, well the weld is starting to flex a bit so no loss on clipping it, I can simply find a better true 67 fender to swap on when Im done mid-life-crisising.

Converting a full on max effort engine/trans to be streetable again and still put a ton of power to the ground is a bit of a challenge, That little angel and devil on the shoulder bit... At this point my tires cannot handle the power levels capable of this combo... so tune it down or fit larger tires...

Just as I stated I would... I have changed things up a bit more. Same basic engine trans configuration... Went with a 3 piece billet steel 22# flywheel so she should rev a bit quicker than the 30# nodular factory unit and its SFI approved for track use as I am fond of my feet. The injection is getting changed up a bit more. I have settled on modifying the ported Vic Jr. with Multi port 120# injectors for street use on 93. I am sizing the pump, filters. surge tank, regulator, rails, etc. to run E85 at the track so I may go to Deka 210#s if needed. I'll be pitching the Retrotek EFI at my wife's chevelle as it just isn't capable of what I need on this boosted setup. I am instead going with a 102mm throttlebody on a 105mm elbow. 4" pipe from the intercooler with a 50mm blow off. Dual 2.25 crossovers each housing a high priority Turbosmart Ultragate 45mm wastegate so it will be a true dual scroll setup for faster boost, but able to maintain low boost for extended periods of time as a street car should, with little to no boost creep. I am also going away from the 7875 and have decided on the VS racing billet 78/75 stage 2. With its larger turbine and billet compressor wheel I should be into boost alot sooner without going past 2:1 on BP. Pitched the up and forward LS header idea for some nice 1-5/8 BBK shorties that clear all the factory Fox accessories AND I wont need to butcher my shock-towers other than some cleanup and minor trimming. I will need to go with a smaller filter and/or a FMS 90 degree adapter but the 3/4" samich plate fits nicely. I'll be scouting a location to install my V/A Sanden A/C compressor up there as well. Mae some excellent scores on parts... all new (Mockup) and all below 1/2 price!!! SWEET, I finally caught a break on this damn build. LOL! Now how to fit it all in that sardine can engine compartment an still keep it serviceable and neat.

Plan is to keep her looking the same so no hood mods or major sheet metal changes to accommodate all of it. Its gonna be fun trying... just gotta get this damn LS swap done on my sons truck first... I need a bigger carport LOL

I've been pretty busy lately. I did manage to get the new custom turbo ordered from Viren at VSR. He put together a billet wheel 7875 package with a larger 1.25 A/R on the tubine side. Less back pressure and an additional 50hp. The elbow has been modded for the LS 92mm throttle body. I'm hoping to get the intake drilled/milled/welded this weekend for the 960cc LS2 style injectors and rails.I've put the E85 stuff on the back burner for now. I'm still sizing the fuel system accordingly etc. but the smaller injectors will do fine with premium for now. We have been busy measuring and figuring for the new turbo and air to water intercooler. I want to keep it as sanitary and less "busy" this go around. Still modifying all the 5.0 crud to fit the taller deck windsor. Conservative estimates are 700 at the wheel at 10-12 PSI. Pictures attached are of the final configuration in street trim (P/S, Alt, belt driven pump, etc.

Yup, I fully expect all of that plus a turbo and intercooler to fit in my 67... without cutting it up... I've lost my damn mind....

Started the intake mods to fit the 960cc EV14 injectors... these things are tiny in comparison to the old Bosch EV1s. The idea is to keep the rails and injectors as "hidden" as possible so I am going over to different rails than what is shown for mock-up. The new rails are satin black Holley EFI and have an 8an internal passage. I also started piecing the new fuel system together. It consists of an Aeromotive A1000 pump, -10 filters one 100um and the other 6um. 10AN feed with 8-AN return off the Aeromotive regulator to the new sumped EFI "Tanks" tank. The feed will split at the post filter and will mate into my (2) existing 6AN lines to the rails. The entire system will be monitored for pressure drops by the MS2 via a rail mounted pressure sensor that will kill boost/RPM/etc. if the fuel pressure drops. Just watched a guy smoke a ring land in a 6.0 LS simply due to letting his tank get too low and uncovering his pick up tube. Thats all it takes, a split second lean condition and $$$$$$$$ goes poof. I am not playing around with the fuel system, all top shelf parts for this little street car... With that said, EVRY part of the system is used or scratch and dent LOL. I may be dead set on quality, but Im still a cheap ******* LOL. I also scored oone of the new Sanden 7 series A/C compressors which will handle the RPMs I assume I will push her to as well as being extremely compact so its on its way and I'll whip up some brackets once it gets here. Best part, is that this compressor will work perfectly with the planned Vintage Aire.
