I have a 67 that I am currently rebuilding the front suspension on and I am at the point of reassembly. The front springs are the next thing to install, I have a center bolt clamp style spring compressor that I am using. Today I went to reinstall the spring and the clamp slipped and the spring popped when it was fully compressed. BANG! It was like a shot was fired and I was lucky to escape with just a wounded pinky finger. What am I doin wrong? and what can anyone recommend to make this install a whole lot safer? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
