So I took off the passenger side valve cover gasket to see if I could find the casting number. I found "302" on the front portion. on the aft portion there was a letter "B" with the number "1F21" just above it. Does this mean anything?

BTW.....The valve springs are BRIGHT orange so I am guessing they are not original.

Seems like these days, I am coming up with more questions than answers.

The actual casting number is on the bottom side of the intake runners. You have to remove the intake and use a mirror to see them. It may not be complete on just one runner. For example, they'll put a D0OE on one runner, and the -B suffix on another. Why did Ford do it this way, you ask? Good question!!!
