Well, I came to the realization that there is no way I'd have the XR-7 road ready this summer. So I started looking for something else to tool around in this summer.

I found something I always wanted, but never thought I would be able to afford;

2002 Jaguar XKR.

It needed a few odds and ends fixed up as well, but it's mostly road ready. Hopefully it won't get me too sidetracked from the 68 XR-7 project.

Yeah, I had an XK8 before, and have been daily driving an X-type for a couple of years. I've had decent luck keeping repair costs down by ordering the parts online and doing the work myself.

Some of it is scary if you don't know what you are doing though. I just read about some trouble codes tripped by a faulty throttlebody. The official repair is to replace the whole assembly to the tune of $2500!
