Adjust Air/Fuel mixture on motorcraft 2bbl Carb

I only noticed recently, I'm trying to adjust the mixture on my carb and one needle when I turn it all the way in, makes the idle rough, then I can turn it out and smooth it out. The other one, no matter where I turn it will not make a change whatsoever. I haven't dug into my spark plugs yet, its also possible my ignition coil is worn out. What could be the cause?

Sound like you need to have the carb rebuilt.

"My carburetor is acting weird - could it be my spark plugs or my coil?"

No, you need to rebuild your carburetor.

Thank you. I rebuilt the carb last year. This is a new symptom. Aside from a rebuild can it be something else.
Sounds like you have dirt or rust in the fuel tank that has plugged one side of the carburetor.

Thats definitely a possibility. I've had that problem before, but I cleaned out the lines very well before I started driving in more a couple years ago.

Yeah, what he said... if one side idle circuit is working and one isn't, a plugged circuit is about the only cause.

Outside chance - a vacuum leak, a big one, that would affect just 4 cylinders fed by that side of the carb, so you can't get that side rich enough to fire at idle.
If either of the idle mixture screws is ineffective, than it's an internal issue in the carburetor. A simple fix may be to remove each mixture screw and blast some carb clean into the passage with the included plastic tube. It may be enough to flush out whatever is blocking the passage. Also, carefully inspect the screws for damage.

No matter how carefully we clean, it's always possible for some sort of trash to make it's way into the fuel system. Even letting a car sit for a period of time can cause deposits to form.
I have a fuel filter on the carb, so nothing should be gunking up. I only use ethanol free. I removed the screw and it seemed clean. I sprayed into the port. I'm adjusting the scews on both sides now and its not doing much. My options are a full tune up to eliminate what could be the problem. But it is running very rich. I put an old ignition coil on to replace the previous failed one. Its probably running weak and its not firing enough. I'll buy another MSD blaster to see how it does. Last thing can be a vacuum leak, but if its anywhere its the brake booster, but I can't hear or feel anything going on there. Brakes pretty good.
It does sound like a plugged carb passage 90% sure. One thing I heard to watch out for is the fuel line to the carb after the filter can deteriorate and send little pieces of rubber into the carb.
An ignition issue is not going to cause one side of the carburetor's idle circuit to become ineffective. I'd pull the carb, remove the top plate and booster, then blast out all the passages.
