I'm going to have to find a way to repay you guys for answering all these stupid questions. I was going to put a shot of R134 in my 71 cougar. It was professionally converted years ago. On the low side of the compressor there's the coupling for the freon and there's also a valve that needs to be opened to allow the freon to be sucked into the compressor. The question is..which way does this valve turn? Clockwise or counterclockwise. It needs to be opened with a pair of vice grips but it doesn't seem to want to open at all and I don't want to force it too much. If I can't open it the freon won't flow. I defiantely don't want to force it the wrong way. I remember I had to do this on a jeep I had and for some reason I thought it may have been clockwise to open.

Thanks. It's just so tight I don't want to force it the wrong way. I'll wait and see if anyone knows for sure. Otherwise I'll flip a coin and hope for the best.
