Well, I don't see the end yet but looks like we are on the good way.:)
I got all the parts I needed for the body. Arrived the rechromed bumpers( from WCCC of course :))
The body with the decals, hood, lights, headlight covers, front spoiler should be ready soon.
The engine is almost completed.
I am waiting for the new 13" Tri-power Disc brake system,Strange 9" rear and for the Keisler RS600 5 speed.
Once I get the brakes I can take measurment for the 17" wheels to.
Hopefully I can start testing at the end of summer.:jump3:

A rebel flag, Buick headlights and a '69 Cougar in an Hungarian resto shop. I think I need to travel more, cause I'm outta touch with the world! Either that, or you're the coolest kid on your block. Very nice!!

The Kaiserliche Marine flag is an interesting touch, as well. Anyway, looks nice, keep up the good work. Its enough of a challenge restoring one of these cars over here, I admire the determination it must take to get something like that done in a country where few people even know what a Mercury Cougar is.

One of the mechanic guy collect everything from the 1st and 2nd world war. That is why the Marine flag is hanging there.

I think it is not bigger challenge than over there. You guys would surprise on what cars where made here. For example these guys are building incredible hot rods. This Cougar is nothing for them. The world opened with the internet. Everything is available.
The only different is that everything costs much more due to the horrible shipping. This Cougar will cost me about $65.000 when its ready. You can count $15-600 for each parts for shipping depending on the dimensions and weight + tax. Just imagine how much I pay only for the shipping. Got a lot's of new parts... But that's ok. This will be a badass Cougar and that is enough for me. I will never sell it but keep to my daughter. :)

I like your attitude!! I feel the same way with mine. Just real glad I don't have to pay the shipping you do. Bet your daughter will be the envy of many when she gets a chance to drive it!!

My son, 23 years old talked about driving mine when it was done. I just laughed at him. The way he takes care of what he has he isn't touching this cat. My father on the other hand, If I can get it done while he is still around will have his own set of keys! He is so tickled to see this car being redone. He used to be a mechanic but apparently has lost all memory of it. LOL but he surely does want to try out this 390! He keeps telling me about going to shows and how he will go with me and watch the car while I walk around. Kinda cool.

These young generations are not the same as we were. Sad, but the world is getting worse and worse in every meaning.
Anyway your father will look cool behind the steering wheel for sure :)
Can you post some pics of your Cat?

It is just back from paint. I don't have much done after that as it has been winter here and to cold to work on. Next week I will make the last payment on the paint job. I have posted lots of pictures of the process so far. Search for the thread as it has been buried for a while but search for Wow, its going to be a long road. Almost every picture i have taken is posted there.

Yeah this generation is scary. I live within twenty miles of Flint Michigan. I believe it is number one in the USA for homicides and shootings right now. Mostly young gangsters. I work Fire and EMS on call and see a lot of the victims. Not good. I have also worked in a state Prisoner for the last 23 years. Half of the prison that I work in is under the age of 22. They are the most trouble and the most dangerous. If people saw what I have in there very few would risk having kids. I have two years left working inside. One day at a time and I try to make sure all my staff go home in the same condition every day. Not easy.

Here we are at least much safer in a small town like ours and overall in all Hungary. There are crazy people here too but not so many homicides. I did not even hear any homicides in my town in the last 10 years or so.(crossfinger)
To keep guns is strictly prohibited or only under very strictly rules. It is not easy to get license for it. You can not go to a gunshop and buy a gun just like that.
My wife works at the police station at the criminal department and fortunately they dont have serious cases.
Take care and take car of your son too as much as you can.
I wish the best.

I will check back your posts for pics.
