Just purchased a 73 xr7 convertible that is missing the xr7 grill emblem. Are these hard to find?

yes... very hard to find... just ask the resident junkyard fiend... wait.. you just did i have a non XR7 one lying around but thats as close as ive come to even finding one with a useable emblem still attached

It's nearly impossible. When I was restoring my '73 XR7 convertible, I saw one on eBay that ultimately sold for $232.50. Fortunately I had my old emblem and was able to take modeling paints and restore it. I saw on www.emblemagic.com that they offer the standard '73 hood emblem, it's "only" $150.

The XR7 emblem is very rare as the guys before me have said abd the standard one with the silver cat on a black background is alittle more prevelent. I searched on ebay for some time before being able to purchase one of each. Goodluck finding one,you may want to try the vendors Don rush of WEST COAST classic cougars may have some used ones as well as Clarksons cougars.
