Dr. Frankenstein is at it again, pulling parts from dead cars and bring my Cat back to life!!!!BBBWWWWWAAAAHHHH!!!!!

I was at the Pick a part at closing today in Long Beach and bumped up on a 9 inch rear end from a 71 Mercury marquis. What would you guys suggest so that I can fit the beast into the cougar?

Walk away, it is most likely a 9-3/8" rear end.

Long Beach? You might have been closer to Wilmington or Carson.

Whole thing is going to be a bust.

Full sized Ford-Lincoln-Mercury nearly all got that 9-3/8 inch third member.

The only 9 inch rear end that is a bolt in for your 1967 Cougar?, is going to be from a 1967-70 Cougar or Mustang.
Has proper overall width, and spring perch locations.
