Haven't you seen the pic of BetaCat? If I can have that pic online, you can surely have a pic of yours here!

I just reaquired the 73 XR7 ragtop. 351c auto, a/c. bronze with bronze/gold tan whateverthehell color they call that interior. :) Black top (hey at least I know what that color is LOL) "The Surivivor"

I guess this is as good a place as any to tell its story. good Karma car, I had the car here for a r/r quarter install 20 years ago and it was in the shop alone when a 77 911 decided to commit suicide and burn. The car was parked top down in front of the door 20 foot behind the 911. The air being sucked into the shop from the door kept most of the heat off the Cat even tho' the 911 almost melted into the floor. somewhere around here are pics of the car 3 days later at the house. Since then it has had a cople of repaints, new top and other odds and ends. Its now undergoing a freshening up by way of finally getting the interior back almost correct. (providing I can locate door panels and rear quarter trim) Hence the nick Survivor. :)

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm still representing out here in Southern Cal. Last fall at Deer Park I was the only 3rd gen cat (came home with a 2nd place plaque) and last weekend at Fabulous Fords Forever in Buena Park I was again the only 3rd gen to be seen (this time with the blue car). A friend of mine got a pic at FFF, I will try to get a copy to the list. Where is everybody? I suppose at the West Coast Nationals there will have to be a few, right?

Hiya Skater, long time no hear, I think you have got way too many 429's there, my 68 Torino wants to be a Talladega clone, so if you want to ship one over to my side, :D

Hey 72 Cat, not bad getting 61 1-2-3 cars. You can add my name to the list, 73 XR-7 coupe, sunroof, pw, ps, A/C, and more. Special order paint, a light blue color, looks a lot like the car used in L-M print ads from 73. Still needs total resto.

Anyone looking for a real nice 73 XR-7 coupe in the Pa area? 2 owner car curently for sale here at $5200. No, it's not mine but I do know the original owner. His brother now has the car for sale.

72 Cat, are you a CCOA member? We have quite a few different registries. The only one for the 1-2-3 cars is for the 71 429 cars. Maybe you should consider starting such a registry with the CCOA. You would really see your number go up then. I myself have probably parted out about 20 of them over the years. All those VIN numbers are on the CCOA database. Just a thought.

Thanks Randy, I will add your car to the list.
Nope not a CCOA member, but I do try and support the Registry by encouraging new owners to fill in Vin numbers, http://www.mercurycougar.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9452 my main problem is that I live on the other side of the world, not that it seems to worry some of our European or Australian members so maybe I should give it some thought, actually my biggest problem is getting money over to the USA, as odd as that sounds, its really a pain, we do not have pay-pal, when I queried this with them they told me they were not considering S/Africa yet, I think I have the 419 scammers to thank for that. To get a draft cheque from the bank requires an invoice from whoever I am sending the money to, they want to know what I am buying, in detail, it costs an additional R80 just to get the cheque. I cannot go and exchange Rands [our currency] for dollars anywhere, I have to produce a visa in order to do that, oh and a valid air ticket to the USA.
I did get my brother-in-law to bring back some dollars the last time he was in the US, then I posted them back to the US, which was risky but luckily the US postal system delivered the mail safely, lol.

I do not know if it would be of any help or if you can even use it, but I have had good experiece using bidpay for overseas customers that I sometimes get on ebay. It might be worth looking into, if you haven't already. Just a thought.

add me to the 71-73 registry

my car is untagged, rough, and 50 miles away. ive owned it for 15 years, but neglected it.
now that ive sold my 72 maverick and now own a parts runner (ford truck), im capable of giving the cat the attention it needs.
waiting for spring to get onto it full throttle. its my only project, so there is hope for its resurrection.

it was originally a 4V car, but someone got to the engine before i got to the car.
a 2v now rests in it.

Cougar Owner 72

Heres my 1972 Cougar XR7 Convertible. It is a 2V 351C with 127K original miles on it. It needs serious interior work. I am looking for a beige/tan top. And am gonna re-carpet it.

Thanks,
Chris

Sorry, can't upload foto, its too big.
