Putting the column back in a 69 and at the end of the column it is very sloppy. Is ther supposed to be a bushing centering the steering rod in the tube? Thanks Greg

The slop is normal - but there was originally a foam ring beyond the plastic sleeve in the end of the shift tube (if yours still has the plastic).

Here is a replacement - although I put one in mine and it wadded up and popped out in short order. https://www.musclecarresearch.com/C9AZ-3E629-A Oh, and if you bother to do this, you'll want one of these too: https://www.musclecarresearch.com/C9AZ-7C102-A They are supposed to keep exhaust gases from travelling up the tube into the passenger compartment. You really do not need either one IMO.
