I'm starting to tackle an issue with my 69 that has bugged me since getting it on the road in 1997. The fuel gauge has always read incorrectly. It never reads full and never seems to read empty either. For 25 years I've relied on the odometer. First step was to drain the tank and remove the sender unit. Full I'm reading about 5 ohms and empty about 50. If I take apart the sender I can get around 80 at the end of the resistor wire inside. The sender is a 3 wire with the red low fuel wire but my harness has only two pins the green/yellow stripe and yellow. The low fuel warning light isn't something I'm interested in fixing. Any help here would be appreciated!
